USC Football: Way too early 2021 game predictions
The last game of the conference season will be against USC’s big rival, UCLA. The Bruins had the Trojans beat late in the fourth quarter last season, but the Trojans had a big kickoff return and then Kedon Slovis threw the game-winning touchdown pass and this game was one of the most thrilling. The Bruins were one of the most improved teams in the country last season and this could be the big breakthrough that Bruins fans have been looking for. UCLA could have one of the most explosive offenses in the country, but they need to show improvement on defense.
I think that this is the season that UCLA breaks through and gets to a bowl game. I think that the Trojans find a way to win this game, however, in what should be a fun shootout.
Final Score: USC 34, UCLA 30 (9-2, 7-2 Pac 12)
USC will close their season out with a non-conference game vs BYU, in a game that would have been much better last season. BYU is expected to take a bit of a step back with so many starters, including quarterback Zach Wilson. The Cougars were one of the surprise teams of 2020 and one of the most fun to watch as well. By the end of the season, BYU should be playing well, but they are going to have so much production to replace that it will be interesting to see how they look at the end of the season.
I think that USC will need to win this game and get to ten wins if Helton wants to save his job. I think they win this game and get revenge for a loss to the Cougars in 2019.
Final Score: USC 38, BYU 24 (10-2, 7-2 Pac 12)
