1. The rebuilt pass rush

Miami has usually had one of the most effective pass rushes in the country since Manny Diaz has been with the program in 2016. This might be the first time since then that Miami has some question marks up front.

Jaelan Phillips and Quincy Roche were one of the most effective pairs of ends in the country and both are heading to the NFL.

Miami has recruited the position well over the years, but those young guys will be tasked with stepping up.

Miami is no stranger to the transfer portal to get some pass rush and will hope that Tennessee transfer Deandre Johnson can be an instant contributor. Some guys that got some playing time last year included Cam Williams and Jahfari Harvey, former big time recruits. If those guys can be impact players, Miami’s defense should be better than what it was in 2020.
