Kansas Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2021
By Austin Lloyd
5. Iowa State (L)
Cyclones head coach Matt Campbell has made Iowa State a powerhouse, leading them to a historically elite performance in 2020. And to make matters, this game is in Ames, Iowa. Kansas will be lucky to make it to game six after being obliterated in this bloodbath.
Record: 1-4 (0-2)
6. Texas Tech (L)
An affair that is likely to be more competitive, the Jayhawks host the Texas Tech Red Raiders after a bye week. Texas Tech just might be the worst program in the Big 12 not named Kansas, but it will expose a gap between the two regardless.
A safe bet would be that Texas Tech snatches the win out of this one by a margin of around 20 points.
Record: 1-5 (0-3)
7. Oklahoma (L)
If this were a breakdown of Kansas State’s 2021 schedule, perhaps the Oklahoma game would be a tougher battle to select a victor from. However, OU typically owns KU to the degree that they are supposed to. Next season should be no different.
Record: 1-6 (0-4)
8. Oklahoma State (L)
The Cowboys have done well in attempting to keep eight wins a season as the par for their program in the past couple of years. Meanwhile, as previously mentioned, Kansas has failed to meet half of such a win count even once within the last decade.
OK State is practically a shoo-in to finish in the top half of the Big 12 standings. The Jayhawks, however, will not be joining them. The Cowboys won by 40 in their last meeting, the point spread of this one upcoming could easily land in the same ballpark.
Record: 1-7 (0-5)
