#13: Alabama Crimson Tide

I may have given away the identity of the 13th-ranked team during the rambling on the last slide, but it’s true, Alabama has one of the worst college football uniforms in the Southeastern Conference.

What I hinted at when talking about the Tennessee Volunteers is what gave them the edge, and that is the popularizing ways of the Crimson Tide’s apparel.

A prime example of this is their famous helmet design, a dome with merely the number of whichever player is wearing it. A symbolization of lethal simplicity, without a doubt.

Really, stop and think about it: there is a multitude of college football teams in the modern era of the sport who rock their numbers on their helmets. But whenever such a style is mentioned, which team do you first think of?

Alabama is lucky that they are so great. Because if they weren’t, fewer teams would attempt to copy their traits, making their uniforms less impressive. And if that were to be the case, the Tide would have a good chance of officially wearing the worst uniform in their conference.
