Mac Jones/Patriots

The Patriots re-signed Cam Newton recently, yet with it being just a one-year deal, that doesn’t take them out of the quarterback market, especially when it comes to the 2021 NFL draft.

New England is in a more precarious position than the other teams that need a quarterback, simply due to the fact they are sitting 15th overall.

Like San Francisco, the Patriots will probably need to trade up to get a good quarterback. Mac Jones has been talked about a lot and if he falls to No. 15, that would have to be the pick.

He’s drawn a lot of comparisons to Tom Brady, probably because he throws a really good ball but doesn’t have the athleticism of the other quarterbacks in the draft.

Still, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if the Patriots moved up for Jones. Bill Belichick trusts Nick Saban, who was his defensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns back in the day, and if he endorses Jones, that would have to count for something.

And if you’rere Jones, of all the teams with picks in the first half of the 2021 NFL draft, why wouldn’t you want to end up in New England?
