Iowa State Football: Pre-spring game-by-game predictions for Cyclones
Games 11-12
Nov. 20 at Oklahoma
Iowa State football would be 10-0 going into this matchup according to the predictions I’ve made here, so this would easily be the Big 12 Game of the Year. I also see Oklahoma being undefeated at this point, although as we know, it’s very possible both teams lose in an upset.
Even so, this game will have a huge impact on the Big 12 title race. Yet, in Norman, I just don’t see Iowa State pulling out the win. Spencer Rattler might win the Heisman and the Sooners could be headed back to the College Football Playoff.
Iowa State falls in a classic.
Final score: Oklahoma 42, Iowa State 38
Nov. 27 at TCU
The Cyclones will have to get off the mat and head to TCU the week after Oklahoma. It’s possible Iowa State would need a win in this game to earn a rematch against Oklahoma. But even if the title game is already clinched, they don’t want to drop a second straight game.
It will already be historic for Iowa State to reach 10 wins, but prior to facing Oklahoma for the Big 12 championship, they will cap an 11-1 regular season and assure themselves a shot at another major bowl even if Oklahoma ends up winning the hypothetical rematch.
