Ranking all Big Ten football uniforms from worst to first

1. Minnesota Golden Gophers

There were a plethora of home-field options to display when it came to explaining why Minnesota has the best uniforms in the Big Ten Conference. The shade of maroon is so dark that I don’t even know what to call it, but that is a big percentage of the style’s originality.

The helmets typically have decent if not perfect color balance, with numbers designed to fit the jerseys almost flawlessly, despite a rather odd font.

And while they are not showcased in the image above, whenever the Golden Gophers dawn their chrome gold helmets with the maroon “M”, all is right with the world. Multiple teams have attempted the chrome look, in helmets and beyond. However, none of them pull off the ways of the chrome design quite like Minnesota.

Did I bring up that the aforementioned “M” is typed in a font that no other program practices? None have a gopher as a mascot, either.

The mascot, the letter emblem, the number font, the color scheme, the unique originality and execution of it all, is drop-dead wonderful. A combination of what all other teams in the league strive for is what Minnesota has, and that is what earns them the title of the best college football uniform in the Big Ten.
