After the win, the Hornets trolled Coach Prime

After an interception sealed the victory late for the Alabama State Hornets, the scoreboard operator put up a picture of Jackson State football coach Deion Sanders. Not a recent photo of the first-year college head coach draped in Jackson State blue and red, but a younger Coach Prime. Specifically with his signature curl.

Sanders did not take too kindly to the picture on the scoreboard.

“Childish,” Sanders said during his postgame press conference about the photo. “It is what it is. They know they messed up.”

That was not the only thing that caught the wrath of Sanders during his post-game interview.

Sanders was not happy that the Alabama State athletic department did not provide Jackson State with an allotment of tickets for the game. Sanders was also not pleased because the Tigers were not allowed to unpack their gear in the visitor’s locker room until Saturday morning.

“I’m going to call them out on it,” the 53-year-old said. “That’s what it was. They tried to respond with a bit of foolishness. We’ve got to keep it on the field and make it about the kids, make it about the fans. It’s not about me.”
