Paris Ford, Pitt

Paris Ford is another very physical safety. He’s a heavy hitter that is willing to drop hammers on everyone. Unfortunately, there are times where he prefers that method over just wrapping his man up for the clean tackle. Overall, Ford’s aggressiveness is more positive than negative.

As mentioned, Ford needs to improve his tackling. He had 136 over 23 games, but that number could have been even higher had Ford used better technique and fewer attempts for a big hit.

At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Ford has good size as well as great speed. If you watch any of Pitt’s games, you’d think Ford has two or three clones. It seems like Ford is involved in 80 percent of Pitt’s defensive plays, and anything he didn’t directly contribute to he’s only feet away.

Despite this, Ford’s high motor and desire to make every play he possibly can occasionally haunt him. There have been times where Ford makes the wrong decision or jumps the wrong way, leaving the potential for big plays that are ultimately his fault.

If Ford can settle down and fix some of his issues and inconsistencies, he can be a Pro Bowler in the NFL.
