QB. Gators . Tim Tebow. 1. player. 840.

30 best college football quarterbacks of all-time: 1. Tim Tebow, Florida football

Career stats:

  • 9,285 passing yards
  • 66.4 completion percentage
  • 88 TDs
  • 16 INTs
  • 2,947 rushing yards
  • 57 rushing TDs

It may have come out funky and a little wobbly at times but it got the job done.

Regardless of Tim Tebow gaining the unwarranted reputation of not being a passer, his stats over at Florida scream something else. In his first year, Tebow was used mostly as a goal-line runner, but once the leash came off him in year two, Tebow went out and wrecked opposing defenses. His 3,286 passing yards in his full first year under center coupled with his 66.9 completion percentage, pointed to a man who could throw the ball accurately. His 895 rushing yards and 23 scores also pointed to a man who could truck you on his way to the end zone.

His second year and first full-time, resulted in a National title and also the Heisman. After falling short the following year, Tebow would just dust himself off and bring the National title back to Florida along with a 13-1 record.

Tebow did everything during his college career, winning basically every trophy possible and delivering one of the more memorable speeches in college history, one that culminated in Tebow promising to deliver a title.

He did just that.

At the next level, Tebow was viewed as a player who simply couldn’t throw the ball effectively. Maybe it was because of his senior stats that saw him rush for over 900 yards or maybe it was because the ball never quite looked right whenever it left his palms. Regardless of any of that, Tebow was the ultimate winner in college. He helped lead Florida to numerous beatdowns over every big-name college’s across the country and took home every award possible.

Things didn’t quite work out the way he wanted to in the NFL but in terms of his position in the unpaid ranks? There’s no denying his placement in the number slot.
