Meet Michael Vick 2.0.
As a young kid, Lamar Jackson must’ve been watching. It all just looked too familiar. The spins, the ball fakes, the juke moves – all appeared to be mirror images of Michael Vick.
Jackson had it all. After an up and down year one at Louisville, Jackson opened up his nap sack in year two and stuffed every award that he could inside of it. The Heisman, Maxwell, Walter Camp, Associated Press Player of the Year and a long list of other awards were thrown in Jackson’s direction.
With 3,543 passing yards and an unheard of, 1,571 rushing yards, there was literally nothing defenses could do with Jackson. Well, at least in terms of stopping his individual production. When it came to his team’s success, it wasn’t as eye-catching as others on this list.
But still, watching Jackson on the field was an event in itself. The way he flung down the ball with ease after evading countless swarms of defenders was about as electric as you can get.
Much like Vick, it wasn’t his passing that placed him on this list, it was his legs more than anything. With just over 1,600 rushing yards in his final season, Jackson solidified himself here. Simply put, stopping him was nearly impossible and not many college QBs can say that.
