Texas A&M football: Kellen Mond to Denver Broncos

While Denver wasn’t at Mond’s pro day, there have been rumors suggesting that the Broncos are looking for competition for Drew Lock, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see them take a quarterback in the 2021 NFL draft.

But also after just using a first-round pick on Lock, are the Broncos going to want to use a top-10 pick on a QB this year? Also, it’s possible that five quarterbacks are off the board by the time Denver picks. It’s not impossible by any stretch of the imagination.

And once we get past that first group of quarterbacks in Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance and Mac Jones, Mond is right there. Some even have Mond ranked as a top-five quarterback in this draft class.

As far as having the chance to start earlier in his career, Denver could be the best landing spot. Then, all Mond would have to do is beat out Lock. At the very least, he would give the Broncos another viable long-term option if Lock doesn’t work out as they hoped.
