Ben Davis, OLB Alabama

Once Ben Davis entered the transfer portal, Texas football seemed like a perfect landing spot. There’s the obvious connection to Sarkisian and the current Longhorns coaching staff, plus the fact that he plays a position of need.

The Longhorns have added other outside linebackers in the portal, including Ray Thornton from LSU, who could be the starter.

But Davis, a former top-10 recruit is another that makes a ton of sense. He was formerly a five-star prospect, but the 6-foot-4, 250-pounder hasn’t really produced and has just one sack in his college career.

However, getting yourself on the field is much harder at Alabama than other places, so a change of scenery could be perfect for Davis, who could provide some depth for the Horns at outside linebacker at the very least.

The transfer of Ovie Oghoufo from Notre Dame also hasn’t been completed according to Longhorns Wire, so that’s another reason to get Davis in the fold.
