Yes, you’re seeing this correctly: another player from a rival of Alabama. This list has three players from rivals of the Crimson Tide but all three were recruited heavily by the Tide and you can be sure that Nick Saban is at least looking at them as they sit in the portal.

Will the Hall of Fame head coach inquire about these three guys? If he wants immediate upgrades at all three positions, he absolutely should.

Alabama loses Patrick Surtain II to the NFL and Josh Jobe returns, but the Tide could use a cornerback with experience to line up on the opposite side of the field. Kendrick was considered a first-round prospect before he and Clemson parted ways due to some off-field issues and Alabama could be his second chance and he could become the latest Tide defensive back to go on Day 1.

Kendrick had quite the career with Clemson, beginning as a five-star receiver before making a position change to defensive back. He had 61 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, three interceptions, and 11 pass deflections in 2019 and 2020 and is arguably the biggest name in the portal.

According to reports, Alabama and Georgia are heavily in the mix for the South Carolina-native following his entrance into the transfer portal.
