52. Scouting Report. QB. Trevor Lawrence. player. Pick Analysis. Clemson. 1

The draft is always filled with unknowns, but the one thing that everyone has known since last year’s draft ended was that Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence would be the first pick of the 2021 NFL Draft no matter who was picking.

The Jacksonville Jaguars finished with the league’s worst record and will get the opportunity to draft the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck in 2012.

Lawrence won the national championship as a true freshman starter in 2018 and only lost two games total while at Clemson, both playoff games. He has everything you want from a franchise quarterback and should be an impact starter from day one.

The Jaguars went outside the box when they hired former Florida and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and he will be looking to bring lasting success to a franchise that has not had much of that. The quarterback position has not been an easy one to nail down for the Jaguars, going from Blaine Gabbert, Blake Bortles, and Gardner Minshew. Lawrence will be expected to bring Jacksonville to the top of the league and he is fully capable of doing so.

Projection: No. 1 overall to the Jaguars
