Georgia. Eric Stokes. player. 49. Pick Analysis. CB. 29. Scouting Report

One of the most underrated corners in the country this past season. Eric Stokes has risen from a name that not many knew to being one of the corners that could be taken in the first round.

Stokes has performed well at his pro days and has as much momentum as any defensive back in the draft. Stokes put together a fine season in 2020, totaling four interceptions and being one of the best shutdown corners in the SEC. At 6’1, 185 LBS, Stokes projects well at the next level with his size and speed and should be a starter from day one.

There are several teams near the bottom of the first round that I think could be in the market for a corner. The Jets, Jaguars, and the Saints could all be teams that have an interest in Stokes. I think that he will wind up going to the Green Bay Packers with the 29th pick, however.

Green Bay has made it to the NFC championship two years in a row, but weak corner play opposite of Jaire Alexander was a weakness, especially in the NFC title game vs Tampa Bay. I think Stokes would be an excellent pick for the Packers to shore up the secondary.
