Ohio State Football: 4 biggest threats on Buckeyes 2021 schedule
By Austin Lloyd
#4: Penn State Nittany Lions
Penn State easily has the capabilities, both on and off the field, to perform at a rather high standard within the hierarchy of collegiate football. That is why their downfall in 2020 came as such a surprise to so many, myself included.
But there was (and still is) a COVID-19 pandemic littering the season from beginning to end on a nationwide scale, so I will just sweep last year’s performance under the rug for them. Their 2021 match with the Buckeyes will be in Ohio, so the game will only be so competitive. It will be physical nonetheless, though.
#3: Minnesota Golden Gophers
P.J. Fleck’s 2019 Golden Gophers squad was so exciting to watch, especially considering that it was a team that seemingly everybody could root for. But similarly to Penn State, the Nittany Lions 2020 hopes crashed and burned as soon as the season began.
Their redemption tour begins on September 2nd, as they will host Ohio State for both schools’ season-opening match. If Minnesota were to ever top the Buckeyes, it would have to be in the first week of the CFB year.
