Position: Running Back
Former team: Auburn
Year: Redshirt sophomore
High school rating: 4-star
Michigan State is in great shape at the running back position at least on paper. Harold Joiner is talented but his production at Auburn was not great. He is a dual-threat back who can run and catch passes out of the backfield. He can be a great third-down back and maybe with his speed can be a good chance of pace back in an upper-echelon backfield this fall.

Maliq Carr has a ton of potential and can play at the wide receiver spot or play tight end. If he plays tight end, he has an outside shot of starting this fall. He also plans on playing basketball as well after the conclusion of football season. Carr is one of the top transfers for the Spartans this offseason.

Itayvion Brown has a tremendous amount of potential and he can push for one of the starting linebacker positions in 2021. He has the size and length to be a very good and productive linebacker in the Big Ten. He doesn’t have much experience but he can have a very good playing career with the Spartans.

Chester Kimbrough is ranked No. 1 in terms of non-early enrolled transfers because he is the most likely of the seven to start for the Spartans in Michigan State’s season opener against Northwestern. The Spartans’ top need is at the two starting cornerback positions and Kimbrough at Florida showed glimpses of what he is capable of as a good, solid defensive corner. He is a very important addition to the Michigan State defense in 2021.
