Oklahoma Football: Predicting where top prospects land in 2021 NFL Draft
Like Ronnie Perkins, Rhamondre Stevenson had a very good 2020 season and improved his draft stock considerably. He had been behind other running backs at Oklahoma but got his chance to shine this past season and took full advantage of the opportunity.
On only 101 carries last season, Stevenson amassed 665 yards and seven touchdowns, including a great performance in the Cotton Bowl against Florida where he had 186 yards and a touchdown on just 18 carries. Stevenson may lack top-end speed, but he is a powerful runner who should be able to find a role quickly in the league.
Stevenson is not as talented as some of the running backs that will be off the board earlier in the draft, but he should be a top target on day three for many teams.
The Texans don’t have a first-round pick due to the Laremy Tunsil trade and will have to fill their needs later in the draft. David Johnson was a solid acquisition for the team last year, but the team should look to get younger at the position and a guy like Stevenson could quickly be the guy.
Projection: No. 158 overall to the Houston Texans
