QB. Ohio State. 9. player. 45. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Justin Fields

Ever since losing Peyton Manning to retirement, the Broncos have been shuffling through quarterbacks. About five years ago, many believed it would be Joe Flacco leading the franchise, then Paxton Lynch, and then Drew Lock. But none have lived up to expectations so the Broncos should be looking for another quarterback in this year’s draft.

In a shocking development, Justin Fields is dropping on draft boards for whatever reason, but that’s just fine with the Broncos. They’ll take him here.

Fields is a better quarterback prospect than Trey Lance right now, in my opinion, and he’s much more polished.

As a freshman, he showed promise behind Jake Fromm at Georgia and then he decided to transfer to Ohio State where he immediately became a star. He passed for 3,273 yards and 41 touchdowns with only three interceptions and he rushed for another 484 yards and 10 scores.

In a shortened junior season, he passed for 2,100 yards and 22 touchdowns on a career-best 70 percent completion rate. He also rushed for just under 400 yards and five touchdowns.

Denver would be jumping for joy if Fields fell to the Broncos at No. 9.
