Pick Analysis. QB. Trevor Lawrence. player. 52. Scouting Report. Clemson. 1

Yes, this is a lock.

The No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft will come without much suspense as the Jaguars will probably take 10 seconds to get the selection in and Roger Goodell will be calling Trevor Lawrence’s name first on Thursday night.

The Clemson quarterback is exactly who Urban Meyer wants to lead his football team in his first year as a coach and he’s the future of the franchise. If the Jaguars are going to climb out of the gutter and back into the spotlight, Lawrence needs to be the guy and Jacksonville needs to build around him.

Lawrence had quite the college career despite never winning the Heisman Trophy. He passed for 10,098 yards and 90 touchdowns in just three seasons with a 67 percent completion rate and 164.3 rating on 8.9 yards per attempt. He got better each season if you can believe that.

Lawrence is a winner and he’s going to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL for years to come. He may be the best quarterback prospect in a decade.
