Pick Analysis. 31. player. 26. Scouting Report. Alabama. Alex Leatherwood. OT

It would be a crime if Alex Leatherwood slipped out of the first round and the Ravens should make sure that doesn’t happen, picking him at No. 31.

This would have been the Chiefs pick but they traded for Orlando Brown and if they hadn’t done that, this would probably still be the pick. Kansas City clearly needed offensive line help after a disastrous Super Bowl showing but the Ravens also need to replace Brown up front.

Enter, Leatherwood.

Leatherwood played both right and left tackle at Alabama and was an absolute monster. He kept some talented quarterbacks upright and he also opened huge running lanes for Najee Harris. He was a big piece to the national title puzzle in 2020.

The 6-5, 312-pound tackle went from second-team All-SEC honors as a sophomore to first-team as a junior and then All-American as a senior. He was also won the Outland Trophy and the SEC’s top offensive lineman award.

Lamar Jackson will be running for days with Leatherwood opening lanes.
