Baylor’s top recruit in the entire 2021 class — Dave Aranda’s first with the Bears — was four-star dual-threat quarterback Kyron Drones from Pearland, Texas. But that doesn’t mean the Bears are set at the position.

Drones may be the future under center and Baylor also returns 2019 Big 12 title game breakout star Jacob Zeno and Gerry Bohanon. All three are talented, but none are experienced.

That means the Bears could add a veteran quarterback to the mix to spice up the quarterback battle and that’s where Grant Tisdale comes in.

The former four-star quarterback was actually a top target of Baylor’s in the 2019 class and he ended up choosing Ole Miss and leaving the state of Texas. Now that he’s back on the market after Matt Corral’s breakout in Oxford, it wouldn’t hurt for the Bears to reach back out and gauge his interest in battling it out with some inexperienced passers.

If Baylor wants to succeed, it needs to plan for life after Charlie Brewer which came sooner than expected.
