RB David Bailey, Boston College

It might be a surprise for Nebraska football fans to see a running back on this list, but the Huskers have shown interest in other transfer running backs, and they should kick the tires on David Bailey.

Markese Stepp transferred to Nebraska earlier this offseason and while many assumed he would take control of the running back room, injuries have hindered him and you have to wonder what the Huskers are going to get from him.

Jaquez Yant and Gabe Ervin both emerged at running back this spring but the Huskers could use another proven back and Bailey might be the perfect fit. He’s a big back at 6-foot, 236 pounds and he could potentially be Nebraska’s bell-cow.

Yant is a big back too, but one solid spring isn’t enough to bank on him delivering this season. If Nebraska adds Bailey, who has 1,600 yards and 16 touchdowns on 332 carries (4.8 average), he would add a proven commodity.

And if Stepp, Yant, and Ervin can beat out a guy like Bailey, Nebraska football fans can feel a lot better about them starting.

Right now though, it feels like the running back room could use more talent and Bailey is one of the best backs available in the portal.
