Texas A&M could be looking to bolster both lines in the portal if there are any openings for such a target this offseason and that’s where Baylor’s James Sylvester could come into play.

The freshman defensive end didn’t play in 2020 after committing to Baylor as a four-star defensive end from Newton, Texas. Sylvester committed to Baylor before Dave Aranda took over so it makes sense that he just didn’t feel like he fit the new coaching staff’s system. He’s now looking for a new home and he should have plenty of suitors given how solid he was as a recruit.

Sylvester held offers from some of the nation’s top programs such as Alabama, Oklahoma, and Oregon but Texas A&M also extended a scholarship in the 2020 class.

Now that he’s looking for a new home, the Aggies could add him to the defensive line to maybe have him replace DeMarvin Leal when he heads to the NFL next season.
