4. ACC

Remember how I said that the Pac-12 has no title contenders? Well the ACC has one, and that is why they are just one notch above last place.

Now it is also worth noting that the Atlantic Coast typically gets much better recruiting due to their predominantly Southern demographic, and that, as previously established, is always a noticeable bonus. However, that’s pretty much all there is to say about their positive attributes.

Outside of those two things the ACC is practically garbage right now. The last time an Atlantic team not named Clemson won a national championship was Florida State over seven years ago. And while we’re at it, the last time an Atlantic team not named Clemson even made the bracket was Florida State over six years ago. Not too good of depth for a league that has all of the ingredients required for greatness.

3. Big 12

Speaking of depth, that is just about all that the Big 12 has going for it in these rankings. The conference has not hoisted up a single championship trophy in over 15 years, which is a safe second to the Pac-12 for longest drought amongst the Power Five leagues in football.

The Oklahoma Sooners are their only true title contender but are such on a consistent basis. Meanwhile, teams like Oklahoma State, Texas, Kansas State, Baylor, and Iowa State have all looked strong in recent memory.
