3. Tyler Shough, QB
Quite possibly, among the most highly rated players on this roster, Shough made a lot of buzz during the off-season coming to Lubbock, after his two year stint with the Oregon Ducks.
His debut in Jones AT&T Stadium brought some warranted attention, as Shough played well. He lead the Red Raiders in passing, with just one sack.
Henry Colombi came in as a transfer last year and Texas Tech’s offense looked more in rhythm with No. 3 under center. However, Shough has had plenty of experience at the Power 5 level and is the expected starter.

2. Tyree Wilson, DL
The Texas A&M transfer became an immediate impact for Texas Tech, collecting seven appearances in the team’s 10 games, alongside racking up 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
As a freshman in College Station, Wilson accumulated three tackles for loss, with 1.5 sacks.
Standing at 6’6, 280 lbs., Wilson led the Red Raiders on defense in the spring game, recording a sack, a quarterback hurry alongside a forced fumble. The defensive line lost a key contributor in Eli Howard, as he has been an impact with the Red Raiders the past four seasons.
Defense is loaded with experience as a whole, led by the three juniors up front in Wilson, Jaylon Hutchings, and Tony Bradford Jr.
Texas A&M transfer EDGE 19 Tyree Wilson has been a monster for Texas Tech down the stretch. 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds is eating on three-man rushes that allow him to loop into the A-gap, crash inside, or just win with power rushes altogether.

Could be a big year for Wilson.
