Arizona

As first-year head coach Jedd Fisch begins to rebuild the Arizona Wildcats football program, he knows the importance of solidifying the quarterback position. A career offensive/quarterback coach, Fisch knows that to turn the fortunes of a program around, he needs a solid quarterback.

Quarterback is very much a concern in Tucson, and Fisch has to look at all of his options, including these two transfers.

  • Nick Moore (transfer), QB: Moore, a former walk-on at Oregon State, comes in with an opportunity to play at Arizona. Originally an Eastern Washington commit, Moore has played a lot of football and was in the thick of the Oregon State quarterback battle with Tristian Jebbia last season. Moore has to show the ability to play consistently from the pocket, but he gives Fisch a different option at quarterback.
  • Jordan McCloud (transfer), QB: Coming from South Florida, McCloud is easily the most athletic quarterback in Tuscon this spring and summer. McCloud has the best opportunity to win the job because he’s played more than any other quarterback in summer ball. In addition, McCloud improved as a passer from his freshman to sophomore season. McCloud might not have the best arm of the quarterbacks competing, but he makes good decisions with the football, and the accuracy has improved. What Fisch has to love about McCloud are the 20 career starts.
