Stats: 4,361 passing yards, 42 passing touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 1,001 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns

Even when Baker Mayfield was making massive moves on the field, a future Heisman winner was waiting in the wings, using his redshirt to play sparingly to retain his eligibility. It even got to the point in the Rose Bowl, where Mayfield and Kyler Murray were being used to run speed option plays.

The former No. 1 high school quarterback recruit broke many Texas high school football records, and possesses quite possibly one of the most exciting high school highlight tapes that exists for a quarterback.

His 2018 season was filled with Heisman-level performances. The type of speed and throw power Murray possesses quite possibly the best the conference offers. The burst Murray shows when finding the hole is equivalent to a running back and can throw the ball a country mile.

Murray had a stretch, where he had 16 touchdowns in three games, with wins over Baylor and TCU. Murray kept the conference championship tradition going, by defeating Texas in the Big 12 title game and claiming the Sooners’ fourth straight.

Murray quite possibly has one of the most filled trophy cases the conference has had to offer and won quite possibly every postseason award that is offered. Murray spent just one season with the Sooners and was not able to capture the team’s first playoff win.
