(Lone season in Big 12 was 2012)
Career Stats: 11,662 passing yards, 98 touchdowns, 21 interceptions

Although Smith spent one season in the Big 12, he made sure to make an impact, and he did so, leading one of the top offenses in the country, alongside breaking Big 12 records in his first game in the Big 12.

After tossing for 4,000 passing yards and 31 touchdowns in his final season with the Big East, Smith threw a conference-record eight touchdowns in the Mountaineers 70-63 win over Baylor.

Following a win over Texas in Austin, Smith led the Mountaineers to 5-0 start and ranked No.5 in the country. However, West Virginia fell off a cliff and lost their following five games. After throwing 25 touchdowns to zero interceptions in the first six games, Smith struggled mightily against the toughest part of the schedule.

Smith would throw five interceptions in the following four games and finished the Mountaineers with a 7-5 regular season record.

Although Smith played one season with the Big 12, the Mountaineer offense was certainly a spectacle in 2012. Alongside Smith, was the deep wide receiving core of Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, to go along with J.D. Woods.
