Kendall Milton arrived in Athens after a terrific high school career. He was ranked the No. 7 running back in his recruiting class and compiled over 4,000 yards and 70 touchdowns during his four prep seasons. He decided to make the cross-country move from Fresno, Calif., all the way down to Athens.

Part of his motivation for choosing Georgia seems to be his hunger to continue the “RBU” tradition that the Dawgs have shown in recent years with their many great running backs. This sophomore is an absolute physical specimen when it comes to the running back position, listed at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds. He has drawn comparisons to the likes of Derrick Henry and Le’veon Bell with his size and playing style.

During the 2020 season, Milton took advantage of the opportunities that he was given and he did not disappoint. It was nearly impossible for just one defender to bring him down to the ground — just ask the Tennesse defense from 2020 after Milton impressed against the Volunteers.

Offensive coordinator Todd Monken is going to find a way to get the ball in his hands as often as possible this upcoming season. James Cook is primarily used for outside runs and in the passing game while Zamir White was the lead guy in terms of carries last season. Look for Milton to chip away carries from White and the rest of the group and potentially be the lead guy when it is all said and done in 2021.

Georgia’s opponents will be wishing the NFL would remove the rule of being years three years removed from high school, because Milton will terrorize defenses for the next 2-3 seasons.

The Georgia backfield has the potential to produce another season with two 1,000-yard rushers like they have a couple of times in the last few years.
