Not many opportunities for Bowling Green to get wins in 2021

When making these predictions for Bowling Green, I am not taking into account things like injuries or suspensions or anything that could seriously hinder the team from being competitive, so keep that in mind when looking back at these predictions during the season.

  • Game 1: At Tennessee (L)- Tennessee will be one of the worst teams in the SEC this season, but they will make quick work of Bowling Green.
  • Game 2: South Alabama (L)- This is one of the few winnable games on the schedule for the Falcons, but I still think South Alabama has the edge.
  • Game 3: Murray State (W)- This is by far the most winnable game on the schedule and it is one the Falcons should take care of.
  • Game 4: At Minnesota (L)- The Golden Gophers are looking to get back to 2019 form and should make easy work of Bowling Green.
  • Game 5: At Kent State (L)- On the road against the best QB in the conference? That’ll be another loss.
  • Game 6: Akron (L)- This is a game that Bowling Green really needs to win, but Akron’s experience is the edge for me.
  • Game 7: At Northern Illinois (L)- NIU was the other winless team in the MAC last season, but they were more competitive and tough to beat at home.
  • Game 8: Eastern Michigan (L)- Chris Creighton has built a good program at EMU and they’ll be a tough out for the Falcons.
  • Game 9: At Buffalo (L)- Playing one of the favorites in the conference on the road is never easy, even when the Bulls are reloading.
  • Game 10: Toledo (L)- Toledo is expected to contend for the conference title and will be too much for Bowling Green.
  • Game 11: At Miami (OH) (L)- The Redhawks only played three games last season, so they are a tough team to project, but I think they will be too much for Bowling Green.
  • Game 12: Ohio (L)- Ohio is always a tough team under Frank Solich and should be yet again in 2021.

Final Record: 1-11 (0-8 MAC)

There is only one game on the schedule that I feel confident that Bowling Green can win (Murray State)  and a couple of toss-ups (Akron and South Alabama). If the team can be more competitive and not get blown out at such a high rate like last season, that can be seen as an improvement. If not, it might be time to hit the reset button for the program.
