Oklahoma

Trap Game: at. Kansas State

Like mentioned previously, it’s tough to gauge a real trap game, when Oklahoma looks better than everyone else on paper. The lone team to nip the Sooners is Kansas State.

Skylar Thompson has played his best ball against the boys from Norman and the Sooners could not handle running back Deuce Vaughn a year ago.

The Sooners are much improved and both contests have been relatively close near the end. However, there is skepticism as if the Wildcats are just a matchup night mare for Oklahoma.

I expect Oklahoma to win, but would not be surprised if Kansas State once again, gave the Sooners fits.

Peak Game: Iowa State/Big 12 football Championship

The Sooners redeemed their loss to Iowa State in early October with a slow, methodical 27-21 win over the Cyclones in December.

Since the Sooners are the consensus favorite to win the conference once again, it would make sense for their peak game to be playing for another piece of hardware.

However,  it is not a guarantee to be against Iowa State. The previous four conference championship opponents for Oklahoma have been different teams. Baylor, TCU, Texas and  Iowa State have all faced the Sooners, but have fallen.

Whoever it will be this year, will have to go through Oklahoma and the Sooners have found ways to win tough, gritty contests, yearly inside Jerry World.

The final game leading up to their bowl game will have to be their best, in order to make their return to the College Football Playoff.
