The Crimson Tide shut out the Bulldogs last season in Tuscaloosa. Don’t expect a different result in year two under Mike Leach. The former Washington State head coach and his staff are still fleshing out the roster, and the Bulldogs have lost a lot of talent on both sides of the ball the last couple of years.

Will Rogers is the likeliest candidate to start at quarterback, though Leach has no problem keeping his quarterbacks on a short leash. Mississippi State will have issues stopping the Alabama offense in addition to the obvious disparity in talent.

The Bulldogs have issues moving the ball in this one as the Crimson Tide dominates on the road.

Final score: Alabama 49, Mississippi State 14 (7-0, 4-0)

This is going to be a rough one to watch if you are a Tennessee fan. The Volunteers’ football program is an internal mess. There was a mass exodus of players via the transfer portal during the offseason, including linebacker Henry To’o To’o who the Vols will see in this game.

New head coach Josh Heupel did the best he could to keep this roster together, but they are no match for Alabama. This is Heupel’s “welcome to SEC football” game as he and the Volunteers’ staff rebuild Tennessee’s roster.

Final score: Alabama 56, Tennessee 21 (8-0, 5-0)
