This is an interesting game for the Crimson Tide. This one is likely not a toss-up, but it could get dicey. There was a staff overhaul in Baton Rouge this offseason. Jake Peetz replaces offensive coordinator Steven Ensminger, and DJ Managas replaces Scott Linehan as passing game coordinator.

There were also changes on the defensive staff as Daronte Jones replaced Bo Pelini as defensive coordinator. Both Andre Carter (defensive line) and Blake Barker (linebackers) are new additions to the coaching staff.

This is still a young roster in certain spots in addition to a coaching staff overhaul. There is no shortage of talent on the roster. Can this new staff congeal with the players in time to make this a game? Maybe. This game is in November, so there should be some improvement by the Tigers by traveling to Tuscaloosa.

This game is closer than the experts think, but Alabama pulls away in the fourth quarter.

Final score: Alabama 31, LSU 21 (9-0, 6-0)

Not much to say or see here. New Mexico State needs to put some money on their books for their athletic budget, and the SEC plays these games before their rivalry games to end the season. The Aggies are not a very good team, and Alabama is Alabama.

Final score: Alabama 42, New Mexico State 0 (10-0)
