1. Georgia will win the national championship

What more needs to be said?

This is the boldest prediction you can give to Georgia football this year. The Dawgs have all the pieces they need to not only compete but win it all in 2021.

The last time Georgia won a national title was 1980, when they defeated Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. That team was headlined by head coach Vince Dooley, star running back Herschel Walker, Buck Belue, Lindsay Scott, and others.

For 40 years, Georgia fans have hoped and dreamt of the day the championship trophy would return to Athens. This goal means even more to Kirby Smart, a UGA alum and former player, who led the Dawgs to the national title game in his second year as head coach back in 2017, only to have their hearts ripped out of them by DeVonta Smith and the Alabama Crimson Tide in overtime.

With an electric offense that showed late last season they can put up 40-plus points per game, a defense that was one of the best in all of college football, and even a special teams unit that comes up in big moments for the team (see Jack Podlesney’s go-ahead fourth-quarter field goal against Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl last year), the Dawgs seem to have the team to make a run at the College Football Playoff.

If ever there was a team to break through and bring home a national championship, it’s the 2021 Georgia Bulldogs. Will it happen? We’ll find out in another exciting year of college football.
