Central Michigan Football: Can CMU compete for conference title again?
Schedule is manageable after two tough non-conference games in September
The schedule sets up nicely for Central Michigan in 2021. After a couple of tough games in September, they have a chance to go on a big run. Expect CMU to hit the ground running.
- Game 1: At Missouri (L)- The season will probably start off with a loss to an SEC team on the road.
- Game 2: Robert Morris (W)- This should be a big win for the Chippewas.
- Game 3: At LSU (L)- This will be another tough road game for CMU and will probably end really poorly,
- Game 4: FIU (W)- The final non-conference game of the season should result in a win for the Chippewas.
- Game 5: At Miami (OH) (W)- Miami OH is reloading a bit and CMU will win close one to open the MAC season.
- Game 6: At Ohio (W)- This will be a really close game, but I will give the edge to the more experienced team and that is CMU.
- Game 7: Toledo (W)- Toledo is going to be a contender this season in the MAC, but I think that Central Michigan can win this one at home.
- Game 8: Northern Illinois (W)- NIU will be one of the weaker teams in the MAC and CMU should win this one big.
- Game 9: At Western Michigan (L)- The winning streak will come to an in at WMU, who is going to be a tough team in 2021.
- Game 10: Kent State (W)- Kent State has the best quarterback in the conference in Dustin Crum, but CMU is the more complete team.
- Game 11: At Ball State (L)- This could determine the division champion and Ball State is the best team in the MAC
- Game 12: Eastern Michigan (W)- CMU closes out the season with a win vs the Eagles
Final Record: 8-4, 6-2 MAC
After the games against Missouri and LSU, CMU has a chance against every team on the schedule. The game against Ball State looms large and might be the biggest conference game in the MAC this season and will determine who wins the west division.
