How will Temple football fare in 2021?

When predicting for Temple this season, it is tough because there are so many new faces that don’t have loads of experience on the field. Having a high amount of transfers can be risky and that is what the season will revolve for the Owls, good or bad.

  • Game 1: at Rutgers (L) — Rutgers is getting backs some of their mojo under Greg Schiano and will be good enough to beat Temple at home.
  • Game 2: at Akron (W) — Akron is going to be better than they were last season, but this is a winnable game for the Owls.
  • Game 3: Boston College (L) — The Eagles might be a surprise team in the ACC behind a strong passing attack and will roll to a victory in this one.
  • Game 4: Wagner (W) — This is the easiest game on the schedule and one the Owls need to win big.
  • Game 5: Memphis (L) — Memphis is one of the AAC’s more consistent teams and I expect them to win this one.
  • Game 6: at Cincinnati (L) —  Cincinnati is going to be a perennial top-10 team this season and is going to win this one big.
  • Game 7: at South Florida (L) — This is a winnable game, but I think that South Florida gets this win at home.
  • Game 8: UCF (L) — UCF is going to be a fascinating team to watch this season under Gus Malzahn and they should outscore Temple here.
  • Game 9: at East Carolina (L) — ECU returns stud quarterback Holton Ahlers and that will be the difference in this game.
  • Game 10: Houston (L) — I think Houston is a sleeper in the AAC this season and they should win big here.
  • Game 11: at Tulsa (L) — Even without Zaven Collins, Tulsa will have a good defense and be able to slow down the Owls.
  • Game 12: Navy (L) — This is another tossup game, but I will give the edge to Navy and its option attack.

Final record: 2-10, 0-8 AAC

This is going to be a final result that will make Temple fans furious, but with so many new faces on the team at important positions, Temple is going to face a very uphill battle to be competitive and get back to a bowl game with so many tough games on the schedule.
