Oklahoma

WR Jadon Haselwood

The unforgettable class of 2019, brought along some household names in the Big 12. It also brought along a trio of talented wide receivers, which have not lived up to the expectation. One of those gentleman that has a chance to break through is Haselwood.

After a solid freshman year with 273 yards and a touchdown, Haselwood struggled to find the field in 2020. He played in just three games and caught four passes.

Marvin Mims has been diagnosed as the clear No.1 receiver, the Sooners need a big-bodied red-zone threat to win one-on-one passes.

Haselwood is exactly that player and is familiar with quarterback Spencer Rattler in being in the same class. Haselwood is not a deep threat, but is excellent at getting yards after the catch and uses his wide body to get more frame and make his catch radius bigger.

Haselwood should have a role, with him, Mims and Theo Wease being the go-to targets in Norman.

Oklahoma State

WR Brennan Presley

The future of the wide receiver position heading into the end of 2020 was looking bleak. Tylan Wallace was fully focused with the NFL Draft and not a ton proven commodities outside of those. Dillon Stoner and Landon Wolf are both gone.

The Cheez-It Bowl helped in some ways, with an outstanding performance from Presley. In Spencer Sanders best game of the year, Presley caught six passes for 118 yards and three touchdowns in the Cowboys win over Miami (Fl.).

The formula for the Cowboys in building a No.1 receiver that should be leading the crew is not normal, for this years’ group. Mike Gundy’s prototypical go-to wide receiver is roughly 6-foot-2 or 6-foot-3, and has a blend of speed and size.

Presley does not have the size, as he stands at just 5-foot-8 inches, from Bixby High School in Tulsa. Presley is someone that can help out Sanders, where trying to look for more proven talent, with Tay Martin and Langston Anderson getting bigger roles.
