This one was a no-brainer for me.

Although I love South Florida’s neon green jerseys (I’m probably very much in the minority here), not even those are going to be enough to save the Bulls in this late-September matchup in Provo.

The Cougars will take advantage of one of the worst defenses in college football last season as USF ranked No. 121 in scoring defense and 94 in total defense. They couldn’t seem to stop anyone, leading to a 1-8 overall record with a lone win coming against The Citadel in non-conference play to begin the year.

Jeff Scott’s first season was a nightmare in Tampa, and the second year won’t be much better.

The Bulls will be forced to go through a gauntlet of NC State, Florida, and BYU in three of their first four games, and by the time they face the Cougars in Week 4, they will be battered and bruised and devoid of confidence.

New quarterback, five new defensive starters, and a second-year coach coming off a 1-8 intro season? Yeah, that’s a recipe for disaster.
