5 college football teams that do not deserve their stadium sizes
By Austin Lloyd
5. Iowa State Cyclones (Jack Trice Stadium)
This stadium is home to a football team that has done virtually nothing to earn half of the seats that it possesses. Is a program that hasn’t clinched a conference title since 1912 truly worthy of a home for over 60,000 people?
Sure, the Cyclones are playing some rather solid football right now. It is to such a degree that they are one of the top teams in the Big 12 today. But the past good season or two does not outweigh the history of losing.
Iowa State has an all-time winning percentage that lies under .500, despite their football program being around for about 130 years. Neither national titles nor relevance have been seen over that span.
With the Cyclones on the rise, they may build up a stronger attendance over the next several years, but it will take quite some time (and winning) for them to truly earn the entirety of what Jack Trice has to offer.
