Jimmy Lake’s first season as Washington football coach had to be considered a success despite the outbreak of COVID-19 in the program which forced the Huskies to surrender their rightful spot in the Pac-12 title game after winning the North division.

The Huskies went 3-1 with a blowout win over Arizona along the way but their lone blemish was in their season finale against Stanford, losing a 31-26 shocker at home.

Lake has an impressive team returning and it should be a Top 25-caliber squad for most of the season and if they’re going to get back to the top of the North, they’ll need to put the hurt on some inferior squads.

Which teams could Washington blow out in 2021?

Note: I opted to choose one non-conference opponent and it had to be an FBS team.

Seattle, Wash.. Arkansas State Red Wolves. 3. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Sept. 18. 2405

Arkansas State has a new head coach this season in the former of former Tennessee head coach and Alabama assistant Butch Jones. He has taken over the Red Wolves after spending most of the last decade in the SEC coaching the Volunteers and being a top assistant for Nick Saban.

But he has his work cut out for him.

The Red Wolves finished just 4-7 a year ago and 2-6 in the Sun Belt with one of the worst defenses in the country but one of the better offenses.

The offense returns just six starters and only four are projected to start so it should take a major step back from its 14th ranking a year ago and Washington’s defense should have no problem containing the Red Wolves.

Plus, that defense was atrocious in 2020 and shouldn’t be a whole lot better.
