From the season’s inaugural game to the national championship, there is always an underdog. The underdog is the one who is expected to fail; many college football fans like that quality in the team(s) they root for.

Sometimes, an underdog is pretty darn inferior, to such a degree that the odds of them walking away with a victory are slim-to-none. In scenarios like those, just about every football fan in the country is pulling for them to get the upset.

There are an elite few of schools that are almost always being rooted against because they are almost always at the pinnacle of the sport. And those guys, just as they would any other year, are each playing a multitude of underdogs in 2021.

Sure, most folks would wish to see Florida State topple the Gators, but we are going even further than that; to even bigger names and more important games.

Without further ado, here are five upsets — in no particular order — that the bulk of the nation would love to see unfold.

1. Wake Forest over Clemson

Literally, any ACC team could be set up against the Tigers and everyone outside of Clemson, S.C., would still be on board with it. However, I have a soft spot for the Demon Deacons so I decided to slap their name up there just for the heck of it.

The Deacs face the Tigers every year, yet the former has not won a meeting since 2008. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want to see a change of pace there?
