4. Iowa State over Oklahoma

Some individuals, as delusional as it may sound, have toyed with the idea of Iowa State making a playoff spot. This is not something that people would hate by any means, rather it is merely unrealistic.

Although, if the Cyclones were going to make a playoff run, upsetting the Sooners would be the first step to do so.

Now it is fair to note that ISU has quieted Oklahoma before, and the eventual result has ultimately been moot. But if Iowa State is truly as good as some fans are implying, Oklahoma would be the biggest challenger standing in their way. Once they are out of the picture, the Cyclones could very much be in control of their own destiny.

5. Florida State over Notre Dame

Nobody likes a poser, and that is exactly what Notre Dame has been in comparison to the other big dawgs in college football as of late. Because of this, most viewers on Sept. 5 will be hoping for the Irish to crumble at the hands of Florida State.

Traditionally, the Seminoles are not the first squad that comes to mind when thinking of underdogs in big games. However, times have certainly changed down in Tallahassee, as FSU is nothing more than a shell of its former self.

What hasn’t changed, though, is the fact that their recruiting quality is still primo. This game will also be the season’s first for each team which, as previously established, is one of the best opportunities to snatch an unexpected dub.
