Nebraska Football: 3 teams Huskers will blow out in 2021
No. 1 Purdue (Oct. 30 Lincoln)
Of all the Huskers Big-Ten home games, the one against Purdue is probably going to be the easiest and that’s saying something considering the Huskers have dropped two of their last three games against the Boilermakers.
Nebraska football defeated Purdue last season by 10 and with a really experienced roster returning, it’s hard to see the Boilermakers winning in Lincoln again.
Yet, Purdue could be better than expected. The Boilers did lose a number of close games last season, but if Nebraska is going to take a step forward this season, it has to be able to step on the throat of inferior opponents and Purdue should fit into that category.
To be fair, Frost is going to need some other home wins and the rest of the conference slate at home features Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, and Northwestern.
Martinez is going to give the Huskers the edge at quarterback and the offense has a chance to be really good, plus the defense will be stout too.
Nebraska didn’t do a good job of forcing turnovers last season but that will change in 2021 and that can help lead to blowouts. Winning the turnover battle, plus a big day from the offense could lead to a lopsided win for the Huskers against Purdue in late October.
