How will North Carolina A&T fare in 2021?

  • Game 1: Furman (L) — A toss-up game between two teams who have very good run offenses.
  • Game 2: Duke (L) — Duke did not have a good 2020 season at all but they didn’t have a good 2019 season either and that did not stop them from blowing out the Aggies then.
  • Game 3: North Carolina Central (W) — North Carolina A&T demolished the North Carolina Central Eagles in their last matchup in 2019. Not expecting another shutout but a definite win for the Aggies.
  • Game 4: Robert Morris (W) — Each team’s Big South opener, the Aggies are the much better team and will get the win.
  • Game 5: North Alabama (W) — North Alabama does not have a good run defense at all. Expect Jah-Maine Martin to have a big game in this one.
  • Game 6: Kennesaw State (L) — Kennesaw State set the Big South record in 2019 for the fewest rushing yards allowed per game (88.9). In five spring games, they led the Big South in rushing yards per game (267.8). This will come down to whose run game is better on this night.
  • Game 7: Hampton (W) — The Hampton Pirates had a rough first season in the Big South and not much is expected of them this season. Expect this to be a comfortable win for the Aggies.
  • Game 8: Monmouth (W) — The Aggies pull off the upset over the reigning Big South champions in their homecoming game.
  • Game 9: Charleston Southern (W) — In their 2019 matchup, the Aggies won 27-21 scoring 27 unanswered points after trailing 14-0. The journey may be different but the result will remain the same.
  • Game 10: South Carolina State (W) — A&T has won six of their last seven games against South Carolina State with their last loss coming in 2013. That includes three straight wins on the Bulldogs’ home field where this game will take place.
  • Game 11: Gardner-Webb (W) — The Aggies have won each of their two matchups against Gardner-Webb by a combined score of 90-9. Don’t expect much from this game.

Prediction: 8-3, 6-1 Big South
