Rushing attack looks to lead the way for Tulane Football in 2021

Tulane has been a very good running football team since Fritz arrived, but he has put an extra focus on improving the passing game. Fritz hired former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long to do exactly that,

Quarterback Michael Pratt did not start until the team’s fourth game of the season, but when he took over, this offense really took off. Pratt threw for over 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns. If Pratt can pick up right where he left off in 2020, then this offense might be ready to take the next step and improve his efficiency and accuracy.

The running attack has been this team’s calling card so far in Fritz’s tenure and this year should be no different. Tyjae Spears is going to be the main ball carrier and he is looking to have a bounce-back season after tearing his ACL in the third game of the season.

Joining Spears, Cameron Carroll had a really nice season last year and Tulane football is also welcoming in Utah grad transfer Devin Brumfield to the backfield. This is a really talented backfield for the Green Wave.

At wide receiver, Duece Watts and Jha’Quan Jackson are going to be the top two threats and they both had 31 catches last season. Tight end Tyrick James should see an uptick in targets with Chip Long as the offensive coordinator. The offensive line returns four starters, including potential All-AAC candidates Corey Dublin and Sincere Haynesworth.
