Maryland Football: Can Terps finally get back to a bowl game?
Can Maryland find consistency?
Maryland was picked fifth in the Big Ten media poll but the Terps are going to have their work cut out for them in a difficult and deep division.
Ohio State and Penn State are both top-15 caliber teams this season with Indiana not far behind. Michigan feels due for a rebound, while Michigan State and Rutgers are both on the rise.
A huge key for the Terps is going to be the offense and a big determining factor in that performance will come down to Tagovailoa. In two wins last season, he threw six touchdowns and one interception while throwing for 394 yards and 282 respectively.
However, in two losses last season, Tagovailoa threw three interceptions in each game. He can’t do that again and with a group of solid receivers, the pass offense has big-time potential in 2021, especially with the addition of transfer Marcus Fleming from Nebraska.
Dontay Demus, Rakim Jarrett, and Brian Cobbs are all back after being the Terps leading receivers in 2021. The running game might be a work in progress, but the offensive line is anchored by Jaelyn Duncan and if Tagovailoa can find some consistency, Maryland could be dangerous.
