TCU Football: Will Horned Frogs be pretenders or contenders in 2021?

How will TCU football fare in 2021?

TCU’s non-conference slate is not the toughest in the world and pretty manageable, but they have some really tough road games in Big 12 play. Road trips to Oklahoma, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Iowa State are going to be tough to overcome in trying to reach the Big 12 title game.

• Game 1: Duquesne (W) — TCU is going to win this game by a large amount and you shouldn’t see the starters past the first half.
• Game 2: California (W) — The Golden Bears are usually a tough team, but I don’t think they will have the offense to hang with the Horned Frogs.
• Game 3: SMU (W) — This should be a fun game to watch and I think TCU will be on the right side of the potential shootout.
• Game 4: Texas (L) — TCU has had the Longhorns’ number since moving to the Big 12, but I think Texas gets the win on the road.
• Game 5: at Texas Tech (W) — I am not getting good vibes out of this Texas Tech program and I think TCU wins big here on the road.
• Game 6: at Oklahoma (L) — This will be the Horned Frogs’ first trip outside of the state of Texas this season and I think they will fall short in the upset bid against the Big 12’s premier program.
• Game 7: West Virginia (W) — TCU lost to the Mountaineers last season and something tells me they will be out for revenge in this one.
• Game 8: at Kansas State (W) — Kansas State is always a tough place to play, but I think TCU has the better team and more athleticism than the Wildcats.
• Game 9: Baylor (W) — I am not high on Baylor this season and I like the Horned Frogs to get the win here.
• Game 10: at Oklahoma State (W) — I was a believer in Oklahoma State last season and after all they lost on offense, I think they are due for a step back.
• Game 11: Kansas (W) — Kansas is still the worst team in the Big 12 by a large margin.
• Game 12: at Iowa State (L) — I don’t think Iowa State is the playoff contender many others do, but they are still a really good team and tough to beat at home.

Prediction: 9-3, 6-3 Big 12

The only game that I don’t think TCU has a great shot at winning is the road game against Oklahoma. Everything else, the Horned Frogs can win and I think this is the most underrated team in the Big 12 this season.
