No surprise here, but Air Force ranked No. 1 in the nation in rushing last season and top tailback Brad Roberts returns after running for 461 yards and five touchdowns on 64 attempts.

The offense, however, returns just three starters and that doesn’t include anyone on the offensive line which could force the Falcons to take a couple of steps back. They finished 3-3 last year with that top-ranked rushing offense and lost by 19 to Boise State and I think we’ll see a similar result this season in Boise.

If a top offense and No. 6 national defense can only go 3-3, I don’t see a ton of hope for the 2021 season, but I could definitely be wrong.

Final Score: Air Force 20, Boise State 38 (4-3, 3-0)

I’ve had a tough time buying into Colorado State for a few years and it won’t change heading into the 2021 season. Steve Addazio is obviously a solid head coach so he might get the job done and the Rams turned around, but that’s not going to happen after a 1-3 opening year.

Colorado State is returning 18 starters, but not one of them is a quarterback. I don’t think we’ll see the Rams contending for any conference titles in 2021.

Final Score: Boise State 41, Colorado State 17 (5-3, 4-0)
